The Optimal Airborne Grease Zone is at the point where the airborne grease has risen but yet to spread. This is the perfect spot to capture the airborne grease before it starts to spread.
Covering Area
Installing the hood too high will let airborne grease to escape and move to other room.
Installing the hood too low will extract too much heat into the range hood causing it to overheat.
23 inches
Under normal circumstances, 23 inches from cooktop to the air inlet is the perfect spot to extract the airborne grease.

Please measure the distance from kitchen floor to the ceiling. (that’s line E on the image)
If the distance is 9ft, we recommend to purchases an Extended Cover for 9ft Ceiling. If the distance is 10ft, we recommend to purchases an Extended Cover for 10ft Ceiling.
