Our Type 1 Low Proximity Backshelf Exhaust only commercial kitchen hood is designed to remove grease laden vapors. The Low Proximity Backshelf hood to be used when the minimum distance from the floor to the bottom edge of the hood cannot be met with a standard exhaust hood canopy. The Low Proximity Backshelf hood relies on the closeness of the hood to the cooking surface for capture of the grase laden vapors. The Low proximity Backshelf hood allows for a underhang of 5″. This is measured horizontally from the front edge of the cooking equipment.
